If you were to ask any photographer what their favorite part about their job was, I can guarantee you that it is NOT THE PROCESS OF EDITING!
Editing can take forever! Most photographers spend too much time on making one photo a masterpiece but still have hundreds of photos to edit. However, there is one little feature that made my editing life SO MUCH EASIER! As an editor, my desired software choice for editing is Lightroom, and this specific feature that I’ll be speaking about, is offered through them.
You can find Lightroom photo editing software to purchase from Adobe.com.
So let me stop talking and get right to it! What made my life easier with editing? What made me not break out in a sweat anymore? What made me chill and help me to reclaim my time as a photographer? PRESETS! Yes, you guys, PRESETS!
Creating Presets in Lightroom chopped my editing time down to 1 minute for each photo, yes seriously, 1 minute! Presets in Lightroom are literally what the word is, Pre-set, or before set. Presets are set templates of editing styles to place on pictures. In other words, this means that once you are to edit and put all the saturation, contrast, exposure, and whatever spectacular edits you use to make your photos POPPIN’, save that editing combination for the future use of your next photo. So then when you click over to your next photo to edit, all you have to do is click that preset button (named at whatever you want) and BAM!…the photo is instantly edited to perfection!
Now if you have a shoot that involves a combination of outside and inside shots, lighting is different, which affects how you should edit. So what do you do? Yep, you guessed it right, MAKE THAT PRESET, and make your editing life easier. It’s simple! If there are any ways for one to work smarter and not harder, DO IT! Especially when it comes to being a photographer!
